Boundaries are: North of 2222, East of Loop 1 (Mopac), West of IH 35 and South of Wells Branch Pkwy. The north area of town is very convenient to not only all of the major thoroughfare but also most of the major employers, shopping and the Capital Metro busline. There is a wide range of choices in this area--from new, very expensive communities to very affordable, established properties. Boundaries are: North of 51st. St., East of IH-35, South of Yager Lane and West of Webberville. Very much like the North area of town, convenient to downtown and most major employers (especially Motorola, Applied Materials, Apple Computers, Samsung and a good deal of State Offices.), The northeast part of town is also accessible by the capital metro busline and the University of Texas Shuttle buses. This area of town boasts some of the most affordable rents in the city. Boundaries are: North of 2222, West of Loop 1 (Mopac), South of Hwy 183, and East of Capital of Texas Highway. Northwest hills is convenient to downtown and boast some of the greatest scenic views in the area. This area is also accessible by the Capital Metro busline and a popular area for student since there are numerous communities on the University of Texas Shuttle bus routes and prices are generally less than the campus area. It is also convenient to shopping. Due to the high concentration of students and proximity to downtown, Northwest Hills is on the higher end in terms of rental rates. Boundaries are: North of Lake Austin, West of Capital of Texas Highway, Southeast of Spicewood Springs Rd on Hwy 183, and southwest of Loop 1 (Mopac) and Parmer Lane. The Arboretum area is fast becoming, as most people consider, Austin's 2nd downtown, this area will give you the convenience of a big town feel with small town charm. Much like the rest of the north areas it is very convenient to major employers and thoroughfares, bus lines and shopping. Wonderful Scenic Views. There has been significant new construction and rental prices are some of the highest in the city. Boundaries are: Northwest of Mcniel on highway 183, west of Parmer Lane, Southeast of 1431 along highway 183 and east of 2222 at Hwy 620. This area lies west of the Arboretum. Considered Austin's burbs, this area of town is in the Round Rock School District, and very convenient to Lakeline Mall, and Lake Travis activities. Not as convenient as the other north areas but Austin is growing fast in this direction. Although it is close to the Arboretum area, rents are more reasonable. Boundaries are: Along IH-35 north of R.M. 1325 and South of Westinghouse Rd. on IH-35. Round Rock is a small town located just north of Austin. It is very convenient to the North side of town and is the home of Dell Computers. Rents are reasonable and the R.R. school district receives consistently high rankings. Boundaries are: East of Lamar, South of Town Lake, West of IH 35. Like North Austin, there is a wide range of choice - from new, expensive properties close to downtown to more affordable communities along William Cannon, to unique units in the Zilker Park area. Boundaries are: East of IH 35 and South of Town Lake. This is a very popular student area due to the large amount of University shuttle routes and high density of apartments. It is also very convenient to many majors employers and has some of the most affordable rents very close to downtown. Boundaries are: West of Lamar, South of Town Lake, North of the town Manchaca. Like the Arboretum, new construction and high rental rates prevail. The are many beautiful views. Convenient to downtown and the Highland lakes. |
