At the third annual WooConf, the official conference for WooCommerce, it was today announced that WooCommerce Stores are on track to surpass $10B in sales this year. WooCommerce is an extendable, adaptable, open-sourced (FREE!) plugin for WordPress that adds eCommerce to any WordPress site. Owned and maintained by Automattic (the company that powers WordPress), WooCommerce has grown to be one of the most popular eCommerce platforms on the web, powering over 41% of all online stores.
It is clearly the big player in the market. Everyone is customizing their extensions to work with it. It may be used for selling physical merchandise, subscription services, access to digital media or downloads. Products can be categorized, given sale prices, independent attributes, and more. It can be used to collect donations, and it is a good choice for membership sites. And WooCommerce is totally scalable for any size enterprise.
The built-in analytics system makes a wide array of statistics easy to understand. Total sales, sales by date, average order totals, individual customer statistics and many other figures are all neatly presented via graphs on the WordPress admin panel.
Net Ingenuity uses WooCommerce for all of the websites requiring e-commerce that we have built–even the one that gives books away for free (lightinnerlight.com).
